I have been asked the question many times. How did I get where I am today? You know, that’s an interesting question, and as I’ve looked back over the years, I think it all goes back to my relationship with my mother. In 1995 when I was a second year, resident in obstetrics and gynecology. My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 51. She passed away from the disease in 2001 and what I noticed was that while I understood a lot about the disease process, the chemotherapy and the surgeries what I lacked was an ability to make my own mother comfortable, and was unable to help her live a happy, productive life. When she died, I profess to her that I wasn’t going to let another woman suffer, and that I promised her that I would do my best from that point forward to help all women in their desires to live a happy and healthy life.
